Section 49
If the ballot paper is lost before the counting is completed

(1) Before the completion of the counting of votes, if the ballot paper used in a polling station or the ballot box containing the ballot paper is illegally taken away from the control of the election officer or opened or damaged or vandalized or lost or damaged by accident, the election officer shall suspend the work of counting the votes and report the same to the Commission immediately.
(2) After the counting of votes has been suspended in accordance with sub-section (1), the Commission shall declare that all voting in such polling station is illegal and the Election Officer shall, on the instructions of the Commission, publish a notice specifying the place, date and time of re-voting in such polling station as soon as possible.
